The European Union strongly supports Ukraine in the war against Russia, providing us with military and financial assistance, as well as introducing sanctions against the aggressor state. And most of all, the dynamics at the front influence the activation of such assistance.
Europe sees that Ukraine is winning

According to him, when the EU sees that Ukraine is not only defending, but also advancing, the support of the Europeans increases. with Ukraine, not only because it upholds the values on which the European Union is actually built, but also because there is a feeling that this is really the winning side. . That is, you know, it is always more pleasant to be with the one who wins, – the expert noted.
At the same time, news from Russia indicates that there is already a feeling of defeat inside the country, and, as you know, defeat is an orphan, many parents win. Therefore, Europe wants to be one of the parents of the victory that Ukraine will receive.
What has changed in Germany
Ivan Uss stressed that speaking of assistance from the European Union, one should pay special attention to its largest economy, namely Germany. This country has also recently become more supportive of Ukraine, and finally provided us with what it had promised for a long time, including the IRIS-T air defense system.
“I do not associate this with what was the shelling of Kyiv on Monday (October 10 – Channel 24), which also touched the building where the German consulate is located, but with the explosions that occurred on Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2,” he says.
According to the expert, although it is not officially known who is behind the explosions of gas pipelines, the relevant services in Germany should already understand that this is also a terrorist attack committed by Russia. Thus, it becomes even more a terrorist country in the eyes of the Germans. After all, first they made fools out of them because of the return of the turbine serviced in Canada and because of which Germany violated the sanctions imposed on Russia, and now they also organized these explosions.They understand that now Russia will say, that gas cannot be supplied to them because of the explosions at Nord Stream, but it is possible to rebuild Nord Stream 2. Russia continues to play games, but the Germans really don't like being made into fools.
And now we have the answer, when Germany began to join this game more actively, and this means that military support from the EU will not only not decrease, but, on the contrary, may even increase, – Uss believes.
Money or valuables – which is more important for the EU
As the expert noted, for a certain period there was an impression that money for the European Union won over values. But the dynamics at the front, the behavior of Russia and, most importantly, that the EU has said it will diversify its sources of hydrogen supply has changed that.
Uss is convinced that diversification, that is, considering other suppliers than Russia, it was necessary to speak before February 24th. However, then European countries believed that this was impossible. But nevertheless, these countries have found, now there are agreements with Azerbaijan, Qatar, Nigeria, Algeria, Norway and the United States, which supply liquefied gas.
Therefore, gas reservoirs, for example, in the same Germany and France, are almost full. In fact, this means that countries have already reduced their dependence. And, perhaps, even in the middle of next year they will be ready to tell Russia that they do not require its gas and oil for a banal reason. Just because the Russians are not the only ones who can provide these energy resources, everyone else does not pull such a bloody trail.
This, by the way, will also affect Europe's desire to help, because so far the main deterrent is dependence on Russian energy resources. When it is clear that there is no dependence, there will be great help, and values will win over money,” Ivan Uss summed up.
Which countries help Ukraine the most< /h2>
The Kiel Institute has calculated which of the world community supports and helps Ukraine more in the fight against Russian aggression. The statistics were summed up for the period from the beginning of a full-scale war on February 24 to August 3, that is, a little more than 5 months of confrontation.
Thus, the United States, as expected, became the undisputed leader among our partners, which provided and announced to Ukraine a total complexity of 52.311 billion euros. It is important that most of this amount was military assistance – 27.65 billion euros. Further, the rating in terms of the amount of military assistance already provided, as well as promised, looks like this:
