In recent days, Russian occupiers have significantly intensified their assaults near Gulyaypole, Zaporozhye region, using tanks and aircraft.
According to the head of the Center for Military Legal Research, Alexander Musienko, in this way the enemy is trying to “probe” line of defense and discover weak points.
He spoke about this in the studio of the national telethon.

Battles for Gulyaypole — Musienko's analysis
– I think that they are trying to draw off our forces so that they are not in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions. And then we will have to observe the time frame. I would not rule out that if the enemy takes a break somewhere in mid-August, then somewhere around October they will regroup and become active with new forces for political reasons, — the expert explained.
Musienko sees the US presidential election as a political motive, on the eve of which Moscow will want to demonstrate that it retains the advantage on the battlefield.
He recalled that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin issued ultimatums regarding the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions on the eve of the NATO summit.
— Russia can make demonstration actions in this direction in order to send signals to the West, so that it would think: something is not working out, Russia still has the strength, and it is necessary to find a way to negotiations. Therefore, for now I see two scenarios, and this is not a scenario of a major offensive, but a “probing” of the positions of the Defense Forces, — concluded Musienko.
