Zaluzhny spoke about the situation in Severodonetsk/Ukrinform
Severodonetsk is a rather difficult situation. Russia deployed up to 7 battalion-tactical groups there.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhny, spoke about this. He once again talked with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, General Mark Milley.Zaluzhny told Milli about the current situation at the front. The Commander-in-Chief noted that the Russian kafirs concentrated their main efforts in the north of the Luhansk region.
The enemy uses artillery massively and, unfortunately, has a tenfold fire advantage. However, the Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their positions despite enemy attacks. Zaluzhny stressed that every meter of Ukrainian land in the Lugansk region was watered with blood, not only of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but also of the invaders.
The situation is complicated, in particular, in the city of Severodonetsk. There the enemy was transferred to 7 battalion tactical groups. Despite heavy fire, we managed to stop the enemy,” the general said.
The Russian occupation troops are failing in the Luhansk direction, so they resumed shelling residential areas of Kharkov. The Russians are also shelling Ukrainian units with artillery and mortars in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
“We are firing back. In some areas, we have switched to counter-offensive operations. As of today, we have a front width of 2,450 kilometers, of which active hostilities are being conducted at 1,105 kilometers,” Zaluzny added.
Ukraine needs most of the large-caliber artillery systems
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine once again repeated to his American counterpart the request to help Ukraine get more artillery systems of 155 mm caliber as soon as possible.
“He also shared strategic goals with his counterpart of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Understanding the strategy of our armed struggle and conduct of operations will help ensure transparency in relations with partners, a clear and understandable quantitative and temporal framework for the international technical assistance that we ask for,” the general said.
Zaluzhny summed up that during a conversation with Milli, they exchanged views on the progress of the transfer and use of the already provided weapons ment, drew analogies with Lend-Lease during the Second World War and discussed scenarios for the development of the situation in the future.
