On the list of 230 Ukrainian prisoners of war who returned home as an exchange on January 3, there was again not a single defender of Mariupol from the already legendary Azov (now the Third Assault Brigade).
Moscow is still trying to use them for its ideological and propaganda purposes.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, spoke about this on air at the national telethon.

— Russians believe that the Azov issue remains socially acute and painful. Therefore, Russians traditionally try to play them a card, hoping that this topic will bring them some kind of gain in destabilizing the situation in our country. “I assure you, this will not happen,” the general indicated.
He emphasized that Ukraine even managed to exchange regiment commanders, namely Denis Prokopenko and Vyacheslav Palamar. When they were in captivity, no one believed that this would be possible.
“Very difficult work is being done, but everyone will be returned home,” Budanov summarized.
Recall that among those defenders who returned to Ukraine as part of the prisoner exchange on January 3, there was also a 20-year-old fighter of the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade of Mariupol, Vladimir Vorobyov. His aunt told reporters how the guy went to serve and how he was subsequently captured by the occupiers.
