The Zvezda TV channel in one of its programs showed the assembly of a T-14 Armata tank in the Uralvagonzavod workshop in Nizhny Tagil (Sverdlovsk region). The bmpd blog in LiveJournal drew attention to the relevant footage.

It is noted that one of the frames captures “the first machines planned for delivery this year on a promising heavy tracked platform.”

The contract concluded in 2015, according to bmpd, “envisaged the supply of a total of 132 pieces of equipment from an experimental military party, including T-14 tanks, heavy infantry fighting vehicles [infantry fighting vehicles] T-15 and BREM [armored recovery vehicles] T-16 , from the end of 2018 to the beginning of 2021, to conduct state tests of these samples and experimental military operation. ”

In September, The National Interest magazine named India a likely buyer of the T-14 Armata tank.

In April, the “Military-Industrial Courier” wrote that the ideology of design thought for the creation of the Russian T-14 Armata tank was based on the developments not of Soviet tank builders, but of Western ones. According to the newspaper, the promising Russian tank “is very close in many parameters and appearance to the MVT-70 (XM-70) tank developed jointly by West Germany and the USA in the 70s”.

In July 2018, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov noted that the country's Armed Forces do not seek to massively purchase T-14 Armata tanks due to their high cost, preferring to increase the combat potential of existing military equipment through its modernization.
