Alexey Navalny
Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Vasily Nebenzya at a meeting of the UN Security Council speculated about those responsible for the incident with Alexei Navalny. It is reported by “Interfax”.
According to him, all that has happened is suggestive of “some dirty staged game.” Nebenzya noted that, most likely, the one who benefits from this was involved in this incident.
The Russian diplomat also said that Russia has no reason to start an investigation into what happened to Navalny, since Russian doctors did not find any traces of chemical weapons in his blood. He added that Germany did not provide evidence that would indicate the crime.
Nebenzya at the UN Security Council meeting on Syrian chemical weapons also said that Russia is more interested than others in clarifying the situation with Alexei Navalny.
On September 2, the German government announced that military toxicologists had found traces of a substance from the Novichok group in Navalny's body and called on the Russian government to respond to this information.
