Russian President Vladimir Putin has completely switched his economy to a war footing. Therefore, Russia produces as many weapons and ammunition in three months as the entire EU does in one year.

What Pistorius said about the new round of war in Ukraine

Boris Pistorius noted that the aggressive war that Russia is waging against Ukraine is no longer regional. According to the German minister, Europe is facing a long-term threat from the aggressor.

In his speech at the end of October, Putin spoke of a “serious, irreconcilable struggle for a new world order,” Pistorius noted.

He also stressed that the Russian dictator already sees himself as the winner in the war against Ukraine. At the same time, Pistorius said that Russia is waging a hybrid war with disinformation and fake news in full swing.

“Our security is a fragile asset. Germany must speed up and invest more in its military potential,” the German minister warned.

By the way, the media wrote that the SPD sees Boris Pistorius as a candidate for the post of Chancellor of Germany instead of Olaf Scholz in the early elections to be held in the country in February 2025. In turn, the minister refused this offer and supported the current head of the German government.
