Russia may switch to missile attacks on the railway and hydroelectric power stations: how dangerous is this

by alex

Russia is changing the tactics of shelling the territory of Ukraine. If earlier the enemy tried to strike at the energy infrastructure, now the invaders can choose new targets.

Major of the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, deputy of the Lviv Regional Council Alexander Ganushchin told Channel 24 about this. Earlier, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine suggested that the new targets of the aggressor could be transport infrastructure or hydraulic structures.

According to Ganushchin, there is nothing surprising in the fact that the occupiers are changing approaches to the shelling of Ukraine. After all, the Russians are also learning. After they failed to plunge Ukraine into complete darkness, the invaders may come up with other methods of terror.

The occupiers can attack the railway and hydroelectric power station

The major of the 103rd brigade Troops noted that if we talk about the transport infrastructure, then most likely the enemy will focus on the railways.

The Russians are well aware that Western weapons, primarily military equipment, will be delivered to us by rail. Therefore, there is nothing surprising in the fact that they will transfer some emphasis in missile attacks to the railway infrastructure,” said Ganushchin.

As for hydroelectric power plants, until recently they were not the main targets for Russia.

“The Russians tried to destroy thermal power plants, so the hydroelectric power station could become the next targets. We must be ready for this,” the deputy of the Lviv Regional Council noted.

Air defense is preparing for new maneuvers of Russia

He stressed that along with the conclusions about new possible targets in the air forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they are also considering options for countering the enemy.

“This is secret information. But also, I think, there are certain conclusions about the deployment of our air defense systems, which will cover the main infrastructure nodes and hydroelectric power plants ,” Ganushchin said.

The danger of Soviet missiles

The major of the 103rd TRO brigade stressed that the new tactics of the occupiers could be dangerous for Ukraine. The level of danger depends on what class of missiles the Russians will use and how correctly the operator will react to setting the task for the target.

Ganushchin noted that the Russians still have a lot of old-class missiles, which, unfortunately, are difficult to cope with our air defense.

“These missiles were once designed to hit aircraft carriers, that is, very large targets. And accuracy was of less importance. Although, by coincidence, it also happens that they really get into residential buildings, as it was in Dnipro”, – said the deputy of the Lviv Regional Council.

What is known about the missile attack on the Dnieper

On January 14, the Russians launched a missile attack on the Dnieper. A Russian rocket that destroyed a residential building on Pobeda Embankment claimed the lives of 46 people, of whom 6 were children. The invaders attacked the high-rise building with a Kh-22 missile. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that at present Ukrainian air defense is powerless against such missiles.

It is important for Ukrainians not to ignore the alarms

As for the new missiles, of which the Russians are now capable of producing no more than 40 per month, these weapons are more or less accurate.

“Of course, it all depends on the quality of the assembly at a particular Russian plant. But yes, there is a danger. They are brought to the targets that the Russians need. These targets mainly relate to infrastructure and energy units, in this case, hydropower,” said Ganushchin.

Important! The deputy of the Lviv Regional Council noted that in the near future Ukrainians should be responsible for air raid signals. It is especially important to take care of the safety of people who live close to transport hubs and hydroelectric power stations.

The threat of massive missile attacks: in short

  • The Ukrainians were warned about the threat of new enemy strikes. The head of the Nikolaev OVA, Vitaly Kim, urged not to ignore the air raid signals on Monday, February 27.
  • The Air Force has issued a warning. that the threat of blows is always. The representative of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuri Ignat, stressed that Russia is changing its tactics somewhat: the place and frequency of attacks.
  • OK “South” reported that the Russian troops put the launch vehicle with 4 “Caliber” on combat duty. And the activity of aviation and night attacks of drones indicate a high probability of missile strikes.
