In Poland, they suggested how many nuclear warheads Russia could keep in the Kaliningrad region. Thus, in Warsaw it was noted that the aggressor country could potentially keep about 100 tactical nuclear warheads in this region.

This was stated in Berlin Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski during the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine.

Russian nuclear warheads in the Kaliningrad region

Sikorski described for other Europeans at the conference what the Russian threat looks like from Warsaw, while emphasizing that it is closer than it may seem.

250 kilometers north of Warsaw is the Kaliningrad region, a Russian exclave with storage space for – we estimate – somewhere around 100 tactical nuclear warheads. 250 kilometers to the east is Belarus, where Russians and Belarusians staged an attack on the EU border, the border of the Schengen zone, said Sikorsky.

In particular, the Polish minister also recalled the violation airspace by Russian missiles, which have already repeatedly “flew” into Poland during shelling in Ukraine.

“One such missile fell 10 kilometers from my house in Western Poland, in 250 kilometers from here… Therefore, this danger is closer than someone might think,” he noted.
