Russia made a cynical statement about peace in Ukraine: why did Lavrov talk about it?

by alex

In Russia they are again talking about the so-called “negotiations” with Ukraine. It is clear that there is nothing adequate in these statements.

About this 24 Channel said political strategist Boris Tizengauzen, commenting on the recent statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Recently, dictator Putin was also telling nonsense about the legitimate chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.

Why Russia started talking about negotiations

It is clear that this is nonsense. All this has happened before.

This story with Stefanchuk reminds me of Putin’s previous attempts. When he said that the military should take power into their own hands, because it would be easier to come to an agreement with them. This time he addresses the Verkhovna Rada. It is clear that this is a stupid attempt from Putin. Purely technologically, he can show the West that he is ready for “negotiations, but with no one,” Tizengauzen said.

The West understands perfectly well that Russia does not want any negotiations . They demand surrender. In this context, Lavrov’s statement is the same, where he singled out “truce” and “peace.” Russia doesn’t want anything like that.

A “truce” for Russia is a freezing of the war. And “peace” means point by point: giving Russia territories, non-aligned status, and so on. They'll want something else there. Ukraine turned out to be an “easy walk” for them – a bad dream, Tizengauzen emphasized.

Russia needs a truce only in order to develop more weapons. They will try to accumulate as much as possible so that they can attack again.

Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia: briefly

  • The Kremlin has recently been throwing around statements about so-called “negotiations” again. Lavrov offers Ukraine negotiations, but exclusively on Russian terms.
  • Putin also said that Russia is supposedly ready for “negotiations.” But they brazenly refuse to leave the temporarily occupied territories.
  • Russia is losing a colossal amount of resources every day. As of May 30, the aggressor country had lost more than 506 thousand personnel.
