Russian troops do not leave their intention to move deep into Ukraine through the Kharkiv region. It is about attacking the Ukrainian army in the Donbass.

Russia has decided to concentrate its occupying forces on the capture of Donbass. To do this, they are trying to move through Izyum to Slavyansk. Oleg Sinegubov, the head of the Kharkiv OVA, said this on air on the Rada channel, channel 24 reports.

“In fact, the enemy lost the battle for Kharkov, and it will be extremely difficult for him to attack our positions that we hold. The enemy has one direction – through Kupyansk, in order to transport our troops to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, in order to increase our military presence in this direction,” said Oleg Sinegubov

Therefore, fighting continues in these areas. The Ukrainian military hold their positions, inflicting considerable losses on the enemy both in manpower and equipment. For example, on April 18, an enemy plane was shot down near Balakliya.

In addition, Ukrainian troops are liberating villages in the Kharkiv region from invaders. However, it is still too early for the residents of these villages to return home, Oleg Sinegubov noted.

“To say that it is safe there is not necessary yet. cleansing,โ€ said Oleg Sinegubov.
