The Ukrainian military continues to courageously defend one of the hottest cities – Bakhmut. And, despite all the attempts of the enemy to break through, no one is going to leave this position.
This was announced on Channel 24 by a military expert, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, pilot-instructor Roman Svitan. He added that Vremya Yar is located behind Bakhmut – a kind of fortified area. And as long as he holds on, it makes no sense to leave the city. By the way, Ukrainian defenders have been fighting for Bakhmut for more than 7 months.
Times Yar holds back the approaches of the enemy
Time Yar is located to the west of Bakhmut, located on a kind of rise and is a fortified area. Within a radius of at least 15 kilometers and a diameter of 30, it can hold back approaches for a very long time, or even all the time. Roman Svitan spoke about this.
“Through Vremya Yar there are food roads for the Bakhmut garrison, and everyone knows about it. The Russians wanted to go to Vremya Yar from the southeast to the northwest. They were stopped by our artillery and thrown back by special groups. “, – said the military expert.
He emphasized that until the enemy approaches the Vremenny Yar, the Bakhmut garrison will definitely not be in any environment.
There is definitely no point in leaving Bakhmut as long as Vremya Yar holds. And there is no problem for him yet, – the colonel of the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized.
At the same time, the Russians continue to advance from the north, from the side of the village of Paraskoveevka, and with the help of manpower they are trying to force out the Ukrainian military. However, they are not lucky.
“Looking at the map, it is clear that they (the Russians – Channel 24) are very far from the encirclement of Bakhmut. But it is practically impossible to encircle him, because the Temporary increase just hangs over Bakhmut, which is a little in the lowland, and all approaches are very well controlled from it to the city,” Swithan explained the details.

The Russians will not stop their advances
Roman Svitan noted that the Russians will continue to work on Bakhmut until the last of them dies – this is a problem of Russian logic and there is no explanation.
“To drive them away (Russians – Channel 24) from Bakhmut is possible only by going to the rear of the Popasnian group, or go to Gorlovka. As soon as we begin to control the roads that feed this group and put pressure on Bakhmut, then we will solve the problem for our troops. I think that it is now a few weeks and this issue will be resolved,” the military expert said.
However, for several weeks the enemy will definitely “pressure”. Roman Svitan noted that the Russians had accumulated up to 400,000 troops along the entire front line.
“Although every day the likelihood of an increase in pressure is less and less. Especially when long-range weapons arrived, which are now reaching Mariupol. We are starting to shoot through almost the entire depth of the front at Russian troops. They have less and less opportunities to increase offensive operations with the help of equipment – every day the Ukrainian military is canceling it,” Roman Svitan shared on the air.
In a few weeks, a decrease in the offensive combat potential of the enemy is expected. And it is already possible to carry out counter-offensive actions, for example, closer to March, the military expert concluded.
Defense of Bakhmut: recent events
