Russia is preparing to steal electricity from Zaporizhzhya NPP: this will open up dangerous opportunities for the enemy Petro Sineokiy

Russian occupiers are building a high-voltage line from the Rostov region towards Energodar. They want to use the Zaporizhzhya NPP to the fullest.

The head of the “Center for the Study of the Occupation” Petr Andryushchenko told Channel 24 about this, noting that such an infrastructure project is not too complicated. Therefore, in literally 1-1.5 months they will extend the line to the Zaporizhzhya NPP. But the deadlines may be extended depending on the weather.

Why Russia wants to use the Zaporizhzhya NPP

As Andryushchenko noted, everything is heading towards the fact that the Russians will simply steal Ukrainian electricity. This will allow them to launch a certain industry in Mariupol and Berdyansk. Now the capacities that they have nearby in the Rostov region are not enough for this.

At the same time, the remaining electricity will be distributed throughout Russia. This is an additional power supply and cheaper electricity.

The Russian economy is going downhill. They will be screwed if we hold out until 2025. Electricity is also part of the economy. Controlling the Zaporizhzhya NPP, they are not yet receiving the full profits that they could. The occupiers are launching a lot of things right near the border with Ukraine. There is the Rostov port, which has increased its load. All this requires electricity, Andryushchenko said.

Recall that on December 10, 2024, a Russian drone attacked an IAEA service vehicle. The organization condemned the incident but did not blame Russia.
