Russia is not the main one: what is behind Putin’s attempts to create an alternative to NATO Petro Sineokiy

Judging by Putin's trips to the DPRK and Vietnam, we can conclude that the dictator wants to organize an alternative to NATO. But he will suffer even greater humiliation.

Russian opposition journalist Igor Yakovenko told Channel about this, noting that Putin will not be able to organize his Warsaw Pact, as the USSR did in the fight against NATO. This attempt is doomed to failure.

What Putin Wants

As Yakovenko noted, Putin is indeed trying to create such a coalition. But it will never be an organization. It will become some kind of “axis of evil”.

The DPRK, Iran, the “fragment” of Syria controlled by Bashar al-Assad; Belarus and Iran with their proxies: Hamas, Hezbollah, Yemeni Houthis; the Taliban, etc. will probably join the conditional coalition.

This entire structure will not unite into a single organization. It is a kind of conglomerate that is connected by various formal “agreements”. There will be no bloc against a bloc, – Yakovenko emphasized.

In the Warsaw Pact, everything was headed by the USSR, which held everything together with the help of military force and imposed ideology, as well as the occupation of countries. Putin will not be able to do this. Russia is not the dominant force here. It is important that China is at the head of this structure.

China is interested in this “axis of evil” that Putin is creating being like a “torpedo”. Only not in the military sense, but in the criminal sense, when militants are used. Russia is not the main one here. At the same time, it is not even the second one. This could be seen during Putin's visit to the DPRK. Kim Jong-un was the master of the situation there, – Yakovenko emphasized.

This could be seen even in the way the Russian ministers were thrown out of the hall, because Kim Jong-un had not yet arrived there. In general, equality is impossible between dictatorships. There is always someone who wants to subjugate another dictator.

Putin's Trips: Briefly

  • Putin was in North Korea on June 18-19. There they signed a “comprehensive partnership” agreement.
  • Putin subsequently arrived in Vietnam. The Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council explained the purpose of the Russian dictator's trip there.
