The corresponding information was announced at a briefing by the Deputy Head of the Main Operational Directorate Brigadier General Alexei Gromov of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Channel 24 reports.
According to him, Russia attracted about 330 thousand people to invade Ukraine.
The number of groups in the directions is about 150 thousand people, formed in the BTG, and other formations, Gromov said.
According to him, if we take into account the air and sea components, then the figure will be about 220 thousand military personnel.
The brigadier general said that units of the combat army system – up to 7 thousand, federal guard troops – up to 18 thousand, military units and units of the mobilization reserve – more than 80 thousand were involved in the aggression.
At the General Staff also reported that Russia sent up to 8 thousand people from private military companies to the front.
How many Ukrainian soldiers are at the front
- In May, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that as many as 700,000 people are protecting Ukraine. Zelensky said that before the full-scale invasion, he signed a decree to increase the Armed Forces of Ukraine by 100 thousand people for the next year.
- But, in his opinion, an army of 250-260 thousand people is not enough for Ukraine. Moreover, there were 120,000 combat units out of this number.
- The head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, said that up to one thousand Ukrainian soldiers are killed or injured at the front every day.

Crazy losses of Russia
The Russian armed forces in the war against Ukraine suffer huge losses, much higher than during the war in Afghanistan or Chechnya.
As of morning 16 June, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 32,950 Russian infidels were killed in the war in Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelensky predicted that by the end of June, Russia's losses in personnel could amount to 40,000.
