Russia has spent at least $30 billion over the years bribing Western politicians – Sheitelman

Over the past decades, Russia has allocated crazy money to bribe politicians not only in the West, but also in other countries peace. There is no exact data, but they obviously did not spare resources for this.

Political consultant Mikhail Sheitelman told Channel 24 about this. This is how he reacted to a recent CNN publication about countries where Russia tried to bribe politicians or entire parties.

In his opinion, Russia was spending crazy money on this. Over the past decades, according to Sheitelman, they threw at least $ 30 billion into this.

I found the amount published by CNN to be ridiculous. Well, what 300 million? Over the past decades, there have definitely been no less than 30 billion dollars. We have already seen how during the war they activated their agents one by one not only in the West, but also in other countries of the world,” Sheitelman said.

Russia often bribed individual parties, factions or just individual politicians. Sometimes it was possible to reach the leaders of countries. According to Sheitelman, this was the Czech President Milos Zeman, who apparently changed his position over time and now supports Ukraine.

Sheitelman also recalled the ambiguous situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There, just a few days ago, the local Football Federation planned to hold a football match in St. Petersburg from the Russian team. This suggests that local sports officials were seduced by Russian money.

Recall, according to a CNN publication, Russia has secretly spent more than $300 million in more than 20 countries since 2014 to influence local domestic political processes. Thus, the Kremlin tried to increase the influence of certain political parties in order to blow up democracy in certain countries. It is known that Russia tried to influence Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and other states.
