Russia has revealed the preparation of the R-30 Bulava nuclear missile: what it is intended for Angela Figin

A few days ago, a satellite image appeared online showing the preparation of the Russian intercontinental ballistic missile “Bulava”. This missile is one of the components of Russia's “nuclear triad.”

“Bulava” is based on the nuclear-powered submarines of the 955 “Borey” project. Military expert, editor-in-chief of Defense Express Oleg Katkov told 24 Channel about the features of the R-30 missile and why Russia revealed its preparation.

What is known about the “Bulava” missile

“Bulava” is one of the two main intercontinental ballistic missiles designed to arm submarines. This is the last of the submarine-based ballistic missiles developed in Russia. Testing lasted about 20 years and only after that it was officially accepted into service.

It is solid-fuel and did not want to fly for a very long time. There were huge problems with it, but now this ballistic missile is the main one for Russia, Katkov said.

According to him, this missile is designed to deliver nuclear weapons. It has a separate nuclear warhead and a range of up to 9 thousand kilometers. This range is quite sufficient to destroy the entire territory of the United States.

The next stage of nuclear blackmail

The editor-in-chief of Defense Express noted that Russian specialized resources were the first to draw attention to this image. They actually reported that the satellite image “exposed” the work of the 12th Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country, which is responsible for servicing nuclear weapons.

The trick here is that these satellite images appeared at all, Katkov noted.

The fact is that Russia knows perfectly well when, where and over what objects satellites are located, which can conduct visual photography and conduct any reconnaissance. Therefore, the Russians usually know when it is best to conduct such operations. For example, there is nothing in orbit above this area right now.

“The fact that the Russians carried out such an operation knowing that they were being filmed is obviously just another stage of nuclear blackmail and a demonstration of nuclear force in conditions when this is the Kremlin's only means of communication with the civilized world,” the editor-in-chief of Defense Express suggested.
