Brigadier General of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Gromov said this at a briefing at the Media Center of Ukraine on August 11, Channel 24 reports. Against the backdrop of recent devastating aviation losses in the temporarily occupied Crimea, the enemy is thinking about bringing obsolete bombers to combat operations against Ukraine.

Russia is trying to restore aviation losses

Oleksiy Gromov said that over a week, 27 air targets of the enemy were destroyed by the forces and means of fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units and air defense of the Ground Forces of Ukraine.

Due to significant losses of aviation The command of the aerospace forces of Russia is studying the issue of bringing outdated Su-24M bombers to combat operations on the territory of Ukraine. It is noted that during 2005-2018 they were withdrawn from combat strength by the aggressor.

The quality of Russian aircraft

Gromov also noted that China’s experience in operating Russian-made Su-35 multirole fighters revealed a low level of quality and reliability of aircraft, as well as their missile weapons.

As of December 2021 of the 24 aircraft delivered to China in good condition only 9. More than 950 reclamation acts were filed (claims against the seller of the Su-35 – ed. Channel 24). At the same time, the largest number of failures during the operation of fighters accounted for on-board systems (about 80%), as well as jet jammers and aircraft weapons, – said the brigadier general.

By the way, according to experts, the problems of reliability and quality of Russian-made aviation equipment are of a systemic nature and are relevant for all aircraft of the Russian armed forces.

The “non-survivability” of Russian aviation has been confirmed in Ukraine

Brigadier General of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that, according to the experience of military operations, Russian Su-35 aircraft also showed a low level of “survivability”. So, since the beginning of the armed aggression, the infidels have already lost more than two aviation squadrons, and this is more than 24 aircraft of this type.

Meanwhile, Gromov said, strike aircraft of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and helicopters of the Ukrainian army aviation carried out more than 260 air strikes on enemy clusters this week. “There are certain achievements and results,” summed up the representative of the General Staff.
