Russia left the people of Transnistria without heat and resorts to blackmail, – the Moldovan government Polina Buyanova

Russia is trying to blackmail Moldova through Gazprom. It left people in Transnistria without heat, because the region was dependent on Russian fuel.

This is reported by 24 Channel with reference to a statement by the press secretary of the Moldovan government, Daniel Voda. According to him, the government will prepare support measures for citizens in the near future, and later for businesses.

The Moldovan government commented on the situation in Transnistria

Daniel Voda said that Russia is spreading disinformation, accusing its own subsidiary of debts that were refuted by an international audit.

It's time to look forward, be strong and show that Moldova is building its future on values, not on fear, he stressed.

According to the press secretary of the Moldovan government, there is electricity and gas on the right bank of the Dniester “thanks to responsible decisions we made together.” He added that in addition to their own energy sources, electricity, heat and gas come from Romania, Ukraine and the European market.

Moldovans, government agencies and Moldovan companies pay for these resources and have no debts. By saving, avoiding waste and showing discipline, we will successfully get through this winter, Voda noted.

He also said that in the near future the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) will announce new electricity tariffs.

Recall that on January 1, 2025, Ukraine stopped transiting Russian gas, which is why mass gas outages began in Transnistria. Tiraspoltransgaz-Pridnestrovie previously reported that gas would remain available in apartment buildings only for cooking.

At the same time, the Moldovan government stated that Russia had refused to supply gas to the region via a bypass route.
