Political scientist Taras Semenyuk told Channel 24 about this. According to him, Ukraine has shown that it does not give up, so European leaders no longer have a choice and cannot just sit and be silent.
The political scientist says that they started the process from the first ” Ramstein” when they agreed to provide weapons to Ukraine.
So there was this breakdown in the EU, that Russia was no longer afraid. Yes, there are, of course, movements from lobbyists, but this is not the time when Europe was looking for a compromise and expressed concern, Semenyuk noted.
He stressed that none of the European leaders is already expressing concern.
“There is already a discussion about the fact that the supply of weapons has slowed down and how to speed it up and increase the amount of what we are now receiving” , – the political scientist added.
The results of the Ramstein-3 meeting: in short
- June 15 at the meeting ” Ramstein-3″ ministers discussed support for Ukraine in the war with Russia. The key task was to meet the urgent needs of the state in the fight against the aggressor.
- Thus, it became known that the United States will significantly increase aid. It will include 155mm guns, HIMARS missile systems, Harpoon anti-ship systems.
- At the same time, Slovakia will provide helicopters, Germany will provide multiple launch rocket systems, and Canada, Poland and the Netherlands will provide artillery.
- Georgia, Moldova and Ecuador also joined the Rammstein meeting for the first time. We add that after the last meeting in the Ramstein format, Macron, Scholz and Draghi came to Kyiv to help Ukraine and express support.
- Note that the first meeting, which was joined by 40 countries, was held on April 26 in Germany. As a result, Ukraine decided to provide self-defense equipment worth more than $5 billion.
