Russians are interested in water supply to Crimea, so they need Kherson region. Also, the occupiers will have to demonstrate “victory” until May 9. But the behavior of the invaders indicates that they have no plan.

Political scientist Mykola Davydyuk said this on the air of Channel 24. He also added that the actions of the invaders in the Kherson region do not look like planned, because they only rob and kill, and where they can, they seize territories and try to convert this into their political victories.

Water is strategically important for them and they also need to drag local politicians to their side. So far, they are weakly successful, because the Kherson region is resisting. Thus, the “mothballed” policies of Medvedchuk's time passed to the occupiers, but so far this strategy has not taken root and is unlikely to take root, the political scientist says.

According to Davidyuk, Ukraine has drawn conclusions since 2014, and as shown by the last local elections, a lot of patriotic youth got into politics in the East and South.

A vivid example is mayor of Melitopol, released from captivity. He is now one of the main ambassadors of Ukraine in the world. The man meets with Macron, Johnson and other high-ranking officials of this world. – says Mykola Davydyuk.

Therefore, I think that in the Kherson region in every town and village there is such a leader, so you need to support them so that, God forbid, the region does not fall, the expert concludes.

< p> Let's remind, the Russian aggressors cannot subdue inhabitants of Kherson. Our citizens put up maximum resistance, against which the occupiers “break their teeth”. Recently, brave Kherson residents tore off the Soviet flag, which was banned in Ukraine, from the flagpole.

Earlier, in Melitopol, partisans liquidated a collaborator who had gone over to the Russians. Courageous residents of the Kherson region almost every day go to rallies in support of Ukraine, which frustrate the intentions of the occupiers to hold a “referendum”.
