Journalists received a report that talks about the construction of a plant for the production of Iranian drones in Russia. According to preliminary data, all work on the construction of the enterprise is in full swing.

In particular, Reuters journalists emphasized that it is at this plant that Shahed-type drones will be produced. The Russians will use them for energy attacks on Ukraine in the winter of 2023-2024.

The Institute for Science and International Security report noted that satellite imagery taken in mid-September 2023 showed new construction at the plant was “directly” correlated with leaked documents of a previously released building plan.

According to the documents, this building will be used for the mass production of Iranian Shahed-type drones, which will include improving Iranian manufacturing processes and ultimately expanding the capabilities of this UAV.

Analysts noted that the satellite image also showed construction of other structures, as well as the construction of new security perimeters with checkpoints.

As winter quickly approaches, Russia can be expected to increase its missile attacks on Ukraine's vital energy infrastructure, creating brutal living conditions for civilians, the report says.

Journalists emphasized that neither the United States nor its allies have imposed sanctions against the owner of the Alabuga JSC plant, which will produce drones, as well as associated companies. Ultimately, the White House, Russian Embassy and Iran's mission to the UN did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the plant's construction.

It is worth noting that this plant is located 800 kilometers east of Moscow in the Republic of Tatarstan. The joint stock company “Alabuga” itself is 66% owned by the federal government, and 34% by the republic.

The occupiers attacked Ukraine with “Shaheds”

  • On the night of November 14, the Russian army once again shelled Ukrainian regions with Shahed-type drones. In total, the invaders launched 9 kamikaze drones.
  • In the end, the Air Force said that our sky defenders managed to shoot down 7 enemy drones. Air defense worked in several regions of our state.
  • At the same time, as a result of a kamikaze drone attack in the Dnepropetrovsk region, one was killed and wounded. At the same time, law enforcement officers are still clarifying information about the damage.
