Russia has blocked the appointment of OSCE leadership for 2024. The Kremlin also blocked the appointment of officials during a meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Vienna.

With such actions, Russia is trying to achieve its goal. A Radio Liberty journalist wrote about the enemy's plans.

What is Moscow trying to achieve?

The correspondent wrote that the Kremlin had already blocked the appointment at a meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe:

  • OSCE guidelines for 2024;
  • four officials who are supposed to lead the organization, including the general secretary.

They want Lavrov to be received next week in North Macedonia at the OSCE ministerial meeting to make a final decision,” the journalist said.

By the way, before this, the head of the Austrian Foreign Ministry, Alexander Schallenberg, said that it was “correct” to invite Russia to a meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in North Macedonia. The politician played along with the Kremlin, saying that it would not be possible to hold full-fledged negotiations without the occupying country.

Lavrov wants to attend OSCE meeting in North Macedonia

  • The foreign publication Albanian Daily News wrote that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov wants to participate in a meeting of the OSCE Council of Ministers. It will take place from November 30 to December 1 in Skopje, located in North Macedonia.
  • The head of the OSCE and Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani commented on this request from Russia. He stated the problems that may arise. Buyar Osmani said that certain logistical efforts need to be made for Lavrov’s visit.
  • In particular, it is said that the airspace of North Macedonia and the country’s neighbors is closed to government flights from Russia. After all, the space in the EU is closed to all Russian state aircraft. Therefore, it is unknown how Lavrov wants to get to North Macedonia.
