Participation of DPRK soldiers in the war
Zelensky said that today he held a meeting at the Headquarters, where, in particular, there was a separate report by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky on the front.
— Donetsk directions — the most severe, Zaporozhye, Kherson, Kharkiv region. Details on the Kursk region — battles involving North Korean troops. They have a lot of losses. A lot. And we see that the Russian military and North Korean overseers are not at all interested in the survival of these Koreans, — he reported.
The head of state emphasized that in North Korea everything is done in such a way that it is impossible for us to capture Koreans — their own people are finishing them off, there are such facts”.
— And the Russians send them into assaults in such a way that they have a minimum of protection. Today there were reports of several soldiers from North Korea. Our soldiers managed to take them prisoner. But they were very seriously wounded, and they could not be resuscitated. This is one of the manifestations of the madness that dictatorships are capable of, — said the president.
Vladimir Zelensky stressed that the Korean people should not lose their people in battles in Europe. And this can be influenced, in particular, by Korea's neighbors, in particular China.
— If China is sincere in its statements that the war should not expand, appropriate influence on Pyongyang is needed, — he said.
Meeting with business and national communities
The President also reported that today he held a meeting with representatives of Ukrainian business from different regions.
— Various industries: defense, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, banks. I am grateful to everyone for their work in Ukraine, for the sake of Ukraine, and it is very important for us to maintain business support, the normal operation of Ukrainian enterprises, our jobs in the state. We discussed specific issues that we will definitely resolve, — said Zelensky.
The head of state emphasized that the economic basis — is the basis of both social life and defense of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelensky also commented on the new format of work within the country, within the framework of which he met with representatives of national communities.
— This is about respect and politics. Each community with its voice, its informal diplomacy can help us all, our entire country, to come to the European Union faster, to achieve results in the negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU faster, — the president summed up.
US sanctions against the founder of the Georgian Dream Ivanishvili
The president also separately commented on the decision of the United States of America regarding sanctions against Bidzina Ivanishvili in Georgia, who is the founder of the Georgian Dream party, which usurped power in the country.
Zelensky recalled that the Ukrainian side had previously called for similar sanctions.
— Ukraine has already applied its sanctions against this de facto ruler of Georgia personally and against his accomplices. We will not tolerate them handing Georgia over to Russia's control. And it is important to preserve Georgia's real independence. I thank America for its support. And this should be supported at the level of all of Europe — every country, all institutions: we need real sanctions and real pressure on this group of comrades in Tbilisi, who like Moscow the most. Let them end up in Moscow in the end, — said the president.
Zelensky's conversation with Miley
Volodymyr Zelensky said that today he also had a conversation with the President of Argentina Javier Miley.
The Ukrainian leader noted Javier's results in economic reforms.
— He has successes that others in the world can take. A very correct example of economic growth helps everyone. I thanked Argentina for its support of Ukraine, — the president said.
He said that Ukraine and Argentina will increase cooperation with Argentina — both economic, political and security.
