“Russia admitted to crimes”: the exchange of political prisoners from the US revealed an important detail Anzhelika Galesevich

A prisoner exchange between Russia and the West took place in Turkey. At least 10 Russian political prisoners were released, as well as two Americans accused of espionage and a German citizen sentenced to death in Belarus.

This exchange was perhaps the largest in recent times. Perhaps, in the history of such events in general. Political scientist Igor Reiterovich in a conversation with 24 Channel revealed an important detail.

What the prisoner exchange showed

7 planes arrived at Ankara airport – 2 from the USA and one each from Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Norway and Russia. According to Turkish media, a total of 26 people were exchanged, of which Russia received 10, and Western countries – 16.

The official list of released persons has not yet been announced, but the world media are already publishing the names of those who were freed today.

Here Igor Reiterovich noted an important detail: Russia is handing over journalists, cultural figures, publicists and politicians, while Western countries are handing over killers and spies, that is, people who were involved in political assassinations. The FSB or other Russian security agencies are definitely behind them.

Russia has admitted to the crimes, admitted its interest in these people, and shown that it has a direct relationship to the murders that took place abroad, the political scientist emphasized.

Who Russia has freed

Among those released from Russian prisons are three US citizens: journalist Evan Gershkovich, former US Marine Paul Whelan, and Radio Liberty journalist Alsu Kurmashova.

Also freed were:

  • politician and publicist Vladimir Kara-Murza;
  • politician Ilya Yashin;
  • former deputy of the Tomsk City Duma, former coordinator of Alexei Navalny's regional headquarters Ksenia Fadeeva;
  • former co-chairman of “Memorial” Oleg Orlov;
  • former coordinator of Alexei Navalny's headquarters in Ufa Liliya Chanysheva;
  • artist Alexandra Skochilenko.

Among those released were also German citizens – Patrick Schobel, Kevin Lik, Hermann Moijes and Rico Krieger. The latter was sentenced to death in Belarus, but was later “pardoned” by Alexander Lukashenko.

Who is the West giving up

As a result of the exchange, Russia will receive a hired killer who worked for the FSB – Vadim Krasikov, who was convicted of the murder of the former Chechen and Georgian commander Zelimkhan Khangoshvili in Berlin.

Also, persons who are considered to be involved in the Russian military intelligence GRU will return to the aggressor country – the spouses Artem and Anna Dultsev together with their two children, Pavel Rubtsov and Mikhail Mikushin.

In addition, Russia will receive hacker Roman Seleznev, as well as the organizers of illegal business schemes Vladislav Klyushin and Vadim Konoshchenko, who helped the Kremlin bypass international sanctions.
