The attack is estimated to take place between April 5th and April 10th, when Ramadan ends.

Intelligence also does not rule out that drones and missiles could be launched from Iran or Syria. In the latter case, this may cause a “weak statement” about objections from Tehran.

Strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria

On Monday, April 1, an explosion occurred in the Iranian consulate building in the Syrian capital of Damascus.

As a result, the building is completely destroyed. At least 13 deaths were also reported. Among them are two senior leaders of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) — Mohammed Reza Zahedi, as well as his deputy, commander of the Syrian and Lebanese IRGC forces, Mohammed Hadi Haja Rahimi.

According to the Pentagon, Israel struck the Iranian consulate in Damascus and killed a number of senior IRGC leaders.

Iranian Foreign Minister Iran Hossein Amir Abdollahian blamed Israel for the attack. At the same time, the Israeli military did not comment on the attack in response.

Although IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari in an interview with CNN noted that, according to their intelligence, this is not a consulate, but a military building of the Al-Quds Force (military special forces unit of the IRGC, — Ed.), disguised as a civilian building.
