The Khrunichev center, the unprofitable enterprise “Roscosmos”, taken from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan back to Moscow three defective rocket “proton-M”, told RIA Novosti in the Corporation.
“All the booster rockets “proton-M”, which at Baikonur was identified defects are factory in Moscow”, — said the Agency “Roskosmos”.
The source added that one of the defective rockets repaired and shipped to Baikonur, where at the end of July with it was launched the telecommunications satellite “Express-80” and “Express-103”. Start is the only start of “proton-M” in the current year, all other Russian launches provides the Samara space-Rocket center “Progress”, which produces Soyuz rockets.
In April, RIA Novosti, citing a source in the rocket and space industry, announced that three located at the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, the rocket “proton-M” for the detection of defective parts sent for replacement components back in the Moscow Khrunichev Center.
Khrunichev center is considered the most problematic and unprofitable enterprise “Roscosmos”. One of the failed projects of the company is the development of media family “Angara”, which in the heavy version needs to replace the “proton-M”. Rockets is more than a quarter century and took more than three billion dollars. Currently the debts of the Center Khrunichev exceed 80 billion rubles, which is comparable to the annual budget of the Corporation.
