Rocket attack on Ukraine on July 8: air defense forces shot down 30 missiles

This morning, July 8, during a combined missile strike on Ukraine, air defense forces shot down 30 of 38 enemy missiles.

This was announced by the commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Nikolai Oleshchuk.

Around 10 a.m., the Russians launched a combined missile attack on Ukraine using air, sea, and ground-based missiles.

In total, according to preliminary data, the Russian military fired 38 missiles of different types into Ukraine:

  • 1 aeroballistic missile Kh-47M2 Dagger;
  • 4 Iskander-M ballistic missiles;
  • 1 3M22 Zircon cruise missile;
  • 13 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
  • 14 cruise missiles Caliber;
  • 2 X-22 cruise missiles;
  • 3 guided aircraft missiles X-59/X-69.

At the same time, the Ukrainian air defense managed to destroy 30 enemy missiles:

  • 1 aeroballistic missile Kh-47M2 Dagger;
  • 3 Iskander-M ballistic missiles;
  • 11 X-101 cruise missiles;
  • 12 cruise missiles Caliber;
  • 3 guided aircraft missiles X-59/X-69.

We would like to add that today, July 8, the Okhmatdyt hospital came under rocket fire. According to the National Police, two people were killed as a result of an attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv.

As Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko noted, the dead were adults. Among them is one doctor.

Subsequently, SBU investigators established that today, July 8, Russian invaders attacked the Okhmatdyt children's hospital with an X-101 missile.

Evidence has already been found at the site of the attack: in particular, fragments of the housing of the rear part of the X-101 missile with a serial number and part of the steering wheel of the same missile.
