Reznikov clarified the issue of monetary allowance for military personnel/Ministry of Defense of Ukraine
Cash payments currently received by Ukrainian defenders consist of two parts, their size depends on what tasks and where the servicemen perform.
A detailed explanation was given by the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov.
Reznikov explained that the cash payments that our military is now receiving consist of two parts, in particular:
- The first part is a monthly monetary support that the military receives in accordance with their position, rank, length of service, etc.
- The second part is an additional monetary reward established at the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky for the military period provisions.
This additional remuneration is calculated according to the following logic:
- For military personnel who are not directly involved in the conduct of hostilities, the additional remuneration per month is 30 thousand hryvnia, or about 1000 hryvnia per day.
- For warriors who participate in battles, additional remuneration is determined at the rate of 100,000 hryvnia per month. Or about 3000 hryvnia per day.
That is, if a soldier, say, an ordinary shooter, defended the border with Hungary for half a month, and the remaining half a month took a direct part in the battles in the Kharkiv region or Donbass, in total through month he will be credited:
- monthly allowance in the amount of about 13-14 thousand hryvnias in accordance with the position and rank;
- about 15 thousand hryvnias of additional remuneration for serving during martial law;
- about 50 thousand hryvnias for direct participation in hostilities.
That is, the total amount in this case for an ordinary shooter will be 78-79 thousand hryvnia minus deductions.

How payments are formed and technically occur
The number of days that a soldier was directly in combat, carried out combat missions, is determined from combat orders and orders issued by the military command of various structures of the defense forces.
must have an account in any Ukrainian bank. No one can force a soldier to choose one or another bank. Details of your account must be provided to the financial service of your unit, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine emphasized.
The payment of money to military personnel is made in the current month for the previous one. That is, in May for April. It is divided into two parts:
- In the first decade of the month, military personnel receive monthly allowances in accordance with their position, rank and other parameters.
- In the second decade, additional remuneration is accrued, those 30 or 100 thousand for martial law and combat.
As Reznikov explained, the amount of additional remuneration at the end of the month should be calculated by the financial services of the units on the basis of combat orders.
” The more days a soldier spends in combat, the more additional remuneration he will receive. Each month this amount can vary significantly. This must be understood,” he added.
Therefore, within the same brigade or even battalion, the amount of payments may differ significantly. It all depends on combat orders.
