Ukraine is working on ways to effectively destroy enemy drones like the Shahed, which Russia uses to strike our infrastructure.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Digitalization Valeriy Churkin spoke about this in an interview with DOU.
Ukraine is working on ways to combat drones
“This is one of the areas we are promoting. We have both private and military countermeasures. There are successful technological cases. And the question is about scaling and comprehensive application,” Churkin said, answering a question about how developed Ukrainian counter-drone technologies are.

Ukraine had previously formed mobile fire teams to counter drones. However, Russia has improved the Shaheds.
“The martyrs are a big problem. And if they pump them up more technologically, it will become even bigger. More than one technical team in the security and defense sector, as well as in the private sector, is working on this,” the Deputy Defense Minister noted.
According to him, the results of scaling up counteraction to drones “will be in a few months”, because the country has no other choice.
He stressed that this requires funding that significantly exceeds millions of hryvnias. In addition, it is important that Ukrainian industry be able to produce this.
“We have great local advances, but we need scale and simultaneity. If we do it in stages, the enemy will have time to prepare a counteraction,” Churkin said.
