EU representatives are finalizing discussions on the “final details” of the 12th package of sanctions against Russia, which will include a ban on diamonds.
This was stated by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell.
He said the proposed package could be approved as early as Wednesday. It will then be submitted for discussion and approval to the EU Council, which includes the bloc's 27 member countries.

The EU High Representative noted that, in particular, there will be more sanctions against individuals, new bans on Russian exports, and among other things, a ban on Russian diamonds, a tightening of the oil price cap to reduce Russia's revenues, and new measures against circumvention of previously imposed sanctions.
