A senior Republican Party official says replacing a US presidential candidate is "just because" impossible.
Democrats' attempt to nominate another US presidential candidate instead of Joe Biden could lead to legal problems.
Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Jones, representing the Republicans, said this in an interview with ABC News.
According to him, in some states “it is impossible to simply replace the candidate” for US president ahead of the elections this November.
“It would be It's wrong and I think illegal, under some of the rules in these states, for a handful of people to go into a back room and replace him because they don't like the candidate anymore… It's not supposed to work like that, so I think they're going to face some legal obstacles,” Johnson said.
He also added that if such an attempt to replace Biden were to take place, “a compelling case would be made that it should not happen.”
Let us recall that almost 80% of Democrats in the United States would approve of the election of Vice President Kamala Harris as a candidate in the presidential election if incumbent President Joe Biden decided not to run.
