On the night of January 26, the Ryazan Oil Refinery was attacked by drones again. As a result of this strike, a fire occurred at the primary oil refining unit at the facility.

What is known about the consequences of the attack on the Ryazan Oil Refinery

Russian journalists reported that on the night of January 26, as a result of a second attack on the Ryazan Oil Refinery Company, a fire broke out at the facility. According to the publication's sources, the refinery was attacked by at least 18 Ukrainian drones, three of which hit the enterprise.

As a result of the attack, the AVT-4 unit caught fire – a tool used to obtain distillates of gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel and fuel oil from oil, the publication noted.

Prior to this, according to journalists, this unit was attacked on March 13, 2024. Its operation was stopped for 2 weeks, after which it was restarted, but only at 60%.

In addition, as a result of the attack on the refinery, a fire broke out in the unit for cleaning the separations and moisture, and in the VGO unit, which converts vacuum gas oil into high-quality. The sulfur cleaning unit was also damaged.

By the way, on January 26, the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the attack on the Ryazan Oil Refinery, which was hit by units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate. The Ukrainian military also reported a fire at the facility.

Sources 24 Kanal also noted that local law enforcement officers quickly cordoned off the area of ​​the refinery to prevent numerous eyewitnesses from entering the territory, who could confirm the accuracy of the drones' hits. This oil refinery is one of the largest in the aggressor country.

Earlier, the Ryazan Oil Refinery was attacked on January 24. Then, as a result of the attack, fuel tanks and a hydrotreatment shop caught fire.
