The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a pilot project to create a social rental housing fund.
Denys Shmyhal announced this at a government meeting on July 2.
Rental housing from the state: what is known
The customers for the construction will be local communities. The use of standard design solutions will significantly speed up the process of building houses.

First of all, housing will be provided to veterans, families of fallen defenders, military personnel, internally displaced persons, orphans, as well as workers in education, medicine and public utilities.
The area standard is 40 m² per family of two. Apartments must be fully habitable – with furniture and household appliances.
The rent will be calculated using a special formula taking into account the region.
But it will be significantly lower than the market price. According to preliminary data, a one-room apartment will cost about 6 thousand UAH per month.
Financing is provided by local budgets, as well as through credit and grant support from partners.
In addition, within the framework of the humanitarian aid project HOPE, the government will allocate UAH 540 million for the restoration of housing in the affected communities of Zaporizhia, Nikolaev, Izyum, Bucha and Makarov. It is planned to repair about 200 apartment buildings.
