  • The destruction of oil refineries in Russia has already begun to affect the country’s economy, which is forced to look for gasoline in Kazakhstan, Belarus and Azerbaijan.
  • After drone attacks, more than 10% of oil refineries in Russia are destroyed or under repair, which can lead to serious consequences for the aggressor country.

< strong _ngcontent-sc139>Ukraine has recently begun actively carrying out drone strikes on Russian oil refineries. Such actions are no longer uncommon since the beginning of Russian aggression against our country. The capacity of enemy refineries has decreased significantly.

This was reported by 24 Channeleconomist, executive director of the Economic Discussion Club Oleg Pendzin, noting that the destruction of oil refineries in Russia has already begun to affect the economy of the aggressor country. Today, more than 10% of the Russian oil refining industry is paralyzed.

Problems of Russia

Oleg Pendzin noted that Russia has always been considered a country with a well-developed oil refining industry. The enemy exported a lot of diesel and gasoline.

In Russia (after the attacks on refineries began – Channel 24) the export of gasoline was completely banned in order to stabilize the domestic market. Now they are forced to turn to Kazakhstan, Belarus and Azerbaijan to purchase 100 thousand tons of gasoline,” he said.

This is a vivid example of the results of attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian refineries.< /p>

Are attacks on oil refineries critical for Russia

According to Oleg Pendzin, there are 32 oil refineries in Russia that are operating. After drone attacks, more than 10% of this number are destroyed or under repair.

He stressed that if drone strikes stop, there will be no significant negative results for the occupiers.< /p>

The Russians have been building modern oil refineries for the last 10 years. After the introduction of sanctions restrictions, their access to spare parts and equipment used at these enterprises has decreased. Now this is critical for them, because only old Soviet factories can be restored. The overall volume of gasoline production in Russia has decreased sharply, the economist said.

Pendzin noted that if the shelling continues, then more serious consequences for the aggressor country can be expected in the future.
