This was announced by the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak at a briefing, Channel 24 reports. It followed the results of negotiations with the Russian delegation in Istanbul on Tuesday.

As he explained, the implementation of the decision of the security guarantees treaty will follow the following procedure:

  • First it will be a referendum, where all citizens of Ukraine will express their position on this treaty and how it should work;
  • after that, ratification by the parliaments of the guarantor countries and the parliament of Ukraine will take place.

At the same time, the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, noted that the referendum can only be held in a peaceful time.

According to Podolyak, the issue of Crimea is a separate clause of the agreement. In it, the Ukrainian side proposes to fix the position of Ukraine and Russia, to hold bilateral negotiations on the status of the temporarily occupied Crimea and Sevastopol for 15 years.
