What North Korea can give Russia is difficult to say, because it will be problematic to fulfill any promises, because North Korean weapons are quite old, still Soviet-style, Kovalenko adds.
The military-industrial complex of North Korea is also very difficult to call high-tech, so if there is some help, it will first of all be rather backward ammunition, the military expert adds.
In his opinion, North Korea will not take such a step, and things will not go beyond loud statements. Kim Jong-in's public support may be due to the fact that he received some kind of guarantees from Russia, most likely of a financial nature, Kovalenko suggests.
“In fact, Kim Jong-un is really a tyrant, dictator and military a criminal, but he is not as crazy as Putin in his actions,” Alexander Kovalenko explains.
According to him, in some recent statements, the leader of North Korea is guided by his own benefit, and not by illusory common interests with Russia.

A dictator from North Korea welcomed the Russian colleague on Russia Day. In a telegram sent to the Kremlin, Kim Jong-un noted that he values friendship with Putin. In addition, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un expressed his full support for the president of the aggressor country.
“Under your leadership, the Russian people, bravely overcoming the challenges and difficulties encountered, achieve great success in carrying out the just cause of protecting the dignity and security of their country, to which our people give full support,” Kim Jong-in said in a statement.
In the war of Russia against Ukraine, all civilized states support us. On the side of Russia are only its satellites. Also, the crazy country managed to lure away the poor African countries – none of them supports Ukraine. Fortunately, all the leading states of the world, except perhaps China, provide support – with weapons or diplomatically.
