Real photo: Yusov on the burnt inscription “Glory to Russia” on the body of a Ukrainian prisoner

Russian occupiers burned the words “glory to Russia” onto the body of a Ukrainian prisoner of war. The photograph, which was published online and shows numerous scars on the body of the liberated defender, is real.

Deputy Head of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War Andrei Yusov spoke about this on air during the national telethon.

A representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate reported that the photo, which shows scars and the burnt inscription “Glory to Russia” on the body of the released soldier, was taken by a doctor from one of the regional medical centers.

– Unfortunately, this is a real photo. It is from one of the previous exchanges. During an examination in one of the regional centers where the guys are undergoing rehabilitation, the doctor simply could not stand it, took a photo of it and posted it online. This is evidence of what our defenders go through in captivity, – said Yusov, and also added that it is important for this photo to be seen around the world.

Yusov noted that Russia violates the conditions of detention of prisoners of war, does not adhere to the necessary standards of nutrition and medical care. This is said by 90% of the Ukrainian defenders surveyed who were released from captivity in the Russian Federation. During exchanges, critical weight loss by prisoners is recorded.

“This is very visible visually, and the difference is in the condition in which the occupiers return to Russia and in what condition the Ukrainian defenders return,” added the GUR representative.

Let us recall that on June 9, Ukrainian defenders returned home as part of the agreements reached with the Russian side in Istanbul. This was the 66th prisoner exchange.
