Ukraine needs a powerful offensive weapon to liberate the occupied territories from Russia. Due to the lack of weapons, the war in Ukraine is only dragging on, and the victims are increasing.

Zelensky asked for more sanctions and weapons

The corresponding statement was made by President Volodymyr Zelensky during an address to participants of the American Jewish Committee Global Forum, Channel 24 reports.

The head of state called for redoubling efforts “to stop Russian hatred.” According to Zelensky, hatred is the driving force “thanks to which this Russian war against Ukraine and freedom is still going on.”

The President drew attention to the Russian hatred for everything Ukrainian – for culture and history. He noted that, despite all the horrors, Ukraine has remained a kind and open country to different cultures.

During his speech, Zelensky said that the occupiers do not care where they launch missile strikes. In particular, the aggressor troops are destroying even Russian churches, settlements where the Greek community has lived for centuries. Crimean Tatars are subjected to constant repressions.

Infidels also fired missiles at Babi Yar. The President also recalled the anti-Semitic statements of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, which caused a scandal.

Zelensky noted the need to strengthen sanctions and accelerate the supply of weapons “so that we can liberate the occupied territories.” He said that Ukraine needs a powerful offensive weapon, “without which the war drags on and the casualties increase.”

The United States and Great Britain promised to provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons

  • The Ukrainian authorities are asking partners for modern air defense systems to defend against Russian missiles and heavy weapons to strike at enemy positions.
  • On June 1, Ukraine received a positive signal from the United States of America, approving 11 military assistance packages for our country. The assistance package includes the provision of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine.
  • These systems are capable of hitting targets at a distance of over 64 kilometers, which is more than any other artillery system currently in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
  • Ukraine received positive news on June 6 from Great Britain. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed the transfer of M270 multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine, which hit targets at a distance of 80 kilometers with high accuracy.
  • As for air defense, in early June, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised to supply Ukraine with the IRIS-T SLM system . But, unfortunately, arms deliveries may be delayed until November-December.
