Radical Islamic sheikh Yasser al-Habib plans to buy Thorsa Island off the coast of Scotland. He wants to turn it into an Islamic state for his followers.

Al-Habib is already raising funds for his project and calling on Shia Muslims to emigrate to island. This decision has already caused concern in the world.

What is in the plans of the Shiite preacher

Videos have emerged documenting radical Islamic preacher Sheikh Yasser al-Habib's plan to acquire the small island of Torsa off the coast of Scotland and turn it into an Islamic state for his followers.

45-year-old al-Habib called on his followers to “immediately donate” to his project, which has already raised 3 million pounds< /strong>.

In one video, al-Habib, who has been accused of spreading hatred, explains that this is his “calling” and calls on his followers to make donations to provide for his “homeland.”

He plans to build the largest mosque, school, hospital and other institutions on the island, where everyone will adhere to Sharia law.

What is known about al-Habib

The publication noted that al-Habib, who has his “headquarters” in South Buckinghamshire, arrived in Britain 20 years ago after receiving asylum from Kuwait. He is already running military-style training camps and wants to create a full-fledged Muslim community on Torsa Island.

Locals on the neighbouring island of Leeuwin have reacted with concern to the plans.

I have spent most of my life working in Muslim countries so I have no problem with that community, but this group does look disturbing from what I have just seen, one resident of the neighbouring island noted.

Al-Habib has been accused of inciting sectarian hatred in the UK and the Arab world. Despite multiple warnings from the regulator Ofcom, his channel Fadak TV continues to broadcast lectures that spread hatred and incite violence.

“They will have their own army, their own justice system, they will run their own schools and hospitals, and people from all over the world will be able to migrate to this homeland. This challenges the notion of sovereignty,” said Sarah Zaaimi of the American think tank Atlantic Council
