Sergey Gorbachev on education in Ukraine during the war/Collage 24 channel
Despite the fact that Russia seeks to destroy every corner of our land and culture, our people are not easy to defeat. One of the examples of the invincibility of Ukrainians is that the educational process will not stop and will begin, as usual, on September 1.

It is not the first year that students from all over Ukraine face new challenges on the way of getting an education. Educational ombudsman Sergey Gorbachev spoke about how the educational process will take place in the conditions of the war on Channel 24.
The educational process will begin on September 1
Sergey Gorbachev stressed that the educational process in Ukraine would not stop. But whether it will be held offline or remotely will depend on the situation on the ground.
He noted that the lives of children are of absolute value, so the quality of education will directly depend on the quality of distance learning.
It is a question of priorities, what is more important for us – the lives of children or some educational losses that will inevitably occur, – Gorbachev noted.
The Ombudsman says that COVID-19 has contributed to online education. After all, there was a great demand for work with remote technologies. In order to master their teachers, they took joint courses with Google and the Ministry of Education. So, given the bad experience of the beginning of 2020, the All-Ukrainian Online School appeared, the quality of which was noted by the expert. > According to Sergei Gorbachev, a lot depends on the staff and director of the educational institution. “If the headmaster is in place, if the person is adequate, if he knows how to organize work at the school within his autonomy, everything is fine there,” the expert noted.
That is why, the Ombudsman stressed, it is important to support teachers. After all, there are cases when local authorities treat teachers irresponsibly and people do not receive salaries for months.

How Russia is trying to stop the educational process in Ukraine
- On the night of July 22, the Russian military launched a massive attack on Nikopol and Apostolovo. As a result of this destruction suffered a number of objects. Among them is Lyceum No. 1 in Apostolovo. As noted by the chairman of the Dnepropetrovsk OIA, Valentin Reznichenko, the lyceum was opened in 2020 after reconstruction.
- In Mariupol, infidels plan to open only 4 schools, where only 3 subjects will be taught to children. Basically, this is due to adaptation to Russian education, because there are certain problems. One of them is that children can understand everyday Russian, but not math or chemistry terms.
- Children suffer from Russia's war against Ukraine. They are killed, left as orphans, hijacked and forcibly deported by the Russian occupiers. According to official data alone, as of July 19, as a result of Russia's armed aggression in Ukraine, 353 children were killed and more than 676 children were injured.
- From September 1, some schools will open their doors to students. The main requirement for the operation of schools under martial law is the construction of a bomb shelter or shelter in case of an air raid. Read more in our material.
