In Istanbul on July 13, a quadripartite meeting of Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and Russia on the export of Ukrainian grain will take place. Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak told the details of the planned meeting.

Andriy Yermak stressed that the unblocking of Ukrainian ports is one of the components of global food security. Therefore, it is necessary to restore the export of Ukrainian grain as soon as possible.

The UN Secretary General has joined the process of unblocking ports

Unblocking of Ukrainian ports was joined by UN Secretary General António Guterres. However, according to Yermak, in addition to the UN auspices over the negotiation process, there is also the position of Ukrainian soldiers in the Black Sea.

It should be understood that the strong position of our military in the Black Sea will allow the safe navigation of ships to return, which is also important for ensuring the protection of national and regional security. This is a priority for Ukraine,” Yermak emphasized.

The head of the President’s Office also noted that grain exports will solve the global food crisis.

Yermak said that on July 13, a meeting of representatives of Ukraine and Turkey will be held in Istanbul. After that, the meeting will be expanded, to which the delegations of the UN and Russia will join. Issues of sea corridors for grain export will be discussed there.

Negotiations in Istanbul on grain export from Ukraine

Negotiations in Istanbul on the issue of Ukrainian grain export were reported in the Foreign Ministry. Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko stressed that the talks would take place in the format of a quadripartite meeting under the auspices of the UN.

However, as Nikolenko noted, propagandists distorted information about the meeting and are already saying that negotiations between Russia and Turkey will allegedly take place in Istanbul, and Ukraine and the UN will be additional participants, but this is not the case.

Russia, by its actions, not only prevents the export of Ukrainian grain, but also brazenly steals it. One of the latest incidents was the theft of grain from temporarily occupied Berdyansk. Then the Russian ship arrived in Turkey, where it was detained. However, a few days later, the Turkish side released the ship. Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called to investigate this situation and provide Ukraine with an exhaustive answer about the incident.
