Russia does not stop killing civilians/Channel 24
Russian invaders continue to bomb Ukrainian cities and kill civilians. According to German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock, while such horrors are happening in Ukraine, Putin's “peace talks” cannot be taken seriously.
Burbock also commented on the Kremlin's persistent requests to pay for gas in rubles. She noted that the most important thing is the cessation of shelling, and not these Putin games.
Putin's “peace talks” cannot be taken seriously
Burbock noted that Moscow cannot be taken seriously in diplomatic negotiations while the Russian military continues to bomb Ukrainian cities. She added that, for example, there are currently more than 100,000 civilians in Mariupol.
And despite the fact that Putin says that he has – as he calls it – peace talks, at the same time he bombs Mariupol, humanitarian corridors, does not allow food and medicine to be brought into the cities, which is obviously a violation of humanitarian law, because these are war crimes,” the minister added.
Burbock stressed that you can't talk about peace talks and bomb hospitals at the same time. According to her, the fact that Europe ignored Moscow's insistence on paying for future Russian gas supplies in rubles is important, but the priority is to stop the shelling in Ukraine.
“It is very important that we gave a decisive answer to this question about the ruble, we are not blackmailed and we do not play games. However, this is all secondary, since the most important thing is the end of the bombing of civilians,” the minister said.
Burbock summed up that Putin's game is not only about paying for gas in rubles or euros, and Europe must put an end to the bombing.
