The Moment of Truth for Putin: 2 Factors Why Russia Is Rushing to Attack the Front Angela Figin

Russia continues its active offensive at the front and, despite the shortage of manpower and equipment, is trying in every possible way to maintain this pace. They say that now Vladimir Putin wants to seize as much territory as possible to show his strength to the newly elected US President Donald Trump.

However, this is not the case. Army General and former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Nikolai Malomuzh told Channel 24 that the Russian dictator is primarily concerned with his own prospects and his regime.

How Putin Wants to Persuade Ukraine to Negotiations

Nikolai Malomuzh noted that when the Russian army loses the momentum of offensive operations, Ukraine will be able to counterattack and deploy a new strategy for liberating territory.

And this could lead to the fall of the regime, so for Putin this is the moment of truth, the army general noted.

The Kremlin has now identified eight main strategic directions, four of which are breakthrough ones, and is throwing as many forces there as possible. While Ukraine is forming additional units and receiving equipment from its partners, enemy troops are trying to advance.

In addition, Russia is likely to return to the tactics of massive shelling of Ukraine in order to suppress the spirit of the people and the Ukrainians protested against the active phase of the war.

Putin's only advantage is that his army can both try to attack at the front and strike at the civilian population every day. He expects that these two factors will incline the Ukrainians to “peace negotiations” with Russia, Malomuzh said.

In this way, the Russian dictator will try to save his regime and show Trump and third countries that only on his terms can the war be stopped.

Thus, on the night of November 13, Russia carried out a combined attack on Ukraine, using cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as drones. Experts believe that the attack is not a signal to Trump, but part of the preparation for possible massive strikes.
