Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will meet with Donald Trump on July 11. The meeting will take place immediately after the NATO summit ends.

As reported in the media, Orban will travel to the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida to meet Trump there. This visit is cause for concern, because just a few days ago the Hungarian prime minister met with Putin.

Orban will meet with Trump

Bloomberg journalists, citing their own sources, claim that a meeting between Orban and Trump will take place on July 11. The visit comes just 6 days after the Hungarian prime minister visited Moscow, where he met with Putin.

The media note that this meeting is causing concern, because it once again prompts the idea that Orban is working as a mediator between Putin and Trump. It is worth noting that Trump and Putin had a warm relationship during the first term of the US presidency, which often drew criticism. Moreover, Trump is convinced that he can stop the war literally in one day if he negotiates with Putin.

According to preliminary information, the meeting will be informal. Sources add that Trump did not ask the Hungarian prime minister to lay the groundwork for some kind of peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia. At the same time, what politicians can discuss at the meeting is unknown.

Interestingly, this is the second meeting between Orban and Trump in the past few months. Thus, the Hungarian prime minister has already visited Trump at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Then the meeting was also informal, and the US presidential candidate “gave a tour”, and after that the politicians gathered for a joint dinner.
