British tabloids write about supposed British intelligence insiders that Putin is dying or already dead. I wouldn't trust either one or the other.
When Putin dies, the information may be delayed by a day or a few hours, but no more. It is only in films that some small group can keep the secret longer.

In the case of Chernenko and Andropov, there was no need for “package agreements” because both were old and terminally ill – their choice was simply “maintaining the status quo” while the real struggle was going on.
