What Russia will decide on NATO/Collage of Channel 24
Sweden and Finland will join NATO very soon. Therefore, the border with the Alliance will come close to Vladimir Putin point-blank.
The Russian dictator will not disperse his military forces to the border with Finland. Military expert Oleg Zhdanov stated this to Channel 24.
In his opinion, Putin will not back down. He understands the main goal of this war – Ukraine.
Without Ukraine, he is nothing. Without Ukraine, all his plans for the future are crumbling like a sand castle. That is why it will not be scattered, – Oleg Zhdanov explained.
However, he noted what one move Russia can make. For example, to withdraw strategic missile troops, which are still not involved in the military campaign, and conduct exercises with them.
“By the way, they promised to do this along the borders with Finland. Although Finland has already outstripped Russia, after all conducted large-scale exercises of its army along the borders with Russia. As the Minister of Defense of Finland said: “1939 will not happen again,” Zhdanov said.
According to him, now Russia has no forces and means, but only political statements, but they will not retreat from Ukraine.
