It will be a terrible blow for Putin: how the West can put pressure on the dictator Dzvenislava Moshovskaya

Russia has repeatedly set “red lines”, the crossing of which could allegedly have serious consequences, but these were just words. Such statements by Russians indicate only one thing – they only accept forceful methods.

Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman told 24 Channel that if Vladimir Putin were given an ultimatum about the course of military operations, he would agree. He noted that attacks on Russian territory had destroyed the Kremlin's “red lines.”

An Ultimatum for Russia

Mikhail Sheitelman noted that Russia had never been given an ultimatum. There had been attempts to start negotiations, but the Kremlin dictator had never been forced to choose.

During the entire war, Putin had tried not to make radical decisions. Instead of a full-scale mobilization, he declared a partial one, often changing the objectives of the war – now there is only a “special operation” in Donbass. Forcing him to make decisions is a terrible blow for Putin, the political strategist said.

He noted that it is important for the West to decide to give Russia an ultimatum, because if the dictator does not accept it, then Ukraine's partners will have to carry out their threat. We are talking about permission to use American weapons on Russian oil refineries.

According to Sheitelman, if Putin wants to abandon the ultimatum, then by doing so he will allow attacks on his territory. The Russian elite will be unhappy with this decision, because it will harm their business.

Therefore, Putin will accept the conditions silently and probably will not attack Ukrainian territory with KABs, he suggested.
