Putin set the task of capturing the Donbass by March: Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine assessed such a scenario

by alex

Vladimir Putin set the task for the commander of the occupation forces in Ukraine, Valery Gerasimov, to capture the Donetsk region by the end of March. However, the Russians will never be able to completely take and capture it.

So, the Russian invaders simply do not have the strength and means to implement such a scenario. Such an opinion Channel 24 was voiced by a military expert, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and flight instructor Roman Svitan.

The Russians themselves understand that this is an unrealistic deadline

Especially now, when the Ukrainian army has gained strength and raised funds. At the same time, the invaders have no where to get them from. Therefore, there is no need to worry about the Donetsk region.

However, the invaders continue to put pressure on the Bakhmut area, namely to the south of the city – near Konstantinovka and to the north – towards Seversk. However, they suffer losses there.

The Russians are well aware that the deadline for March is impossible, so they factor in the current speed (advance – Channel 24) into the calculations and will move with it until the Ukrainian troops strike in the directions that are scheduled by our General Staff, – said the reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The maximum that the occupiers can do in the next few months is to resume the advance at the same speed south of Donetsk. That is, start moving to the borders of the Donetsk region, but from the South – in the area of Ugledar, Novoselka or a little to the west – from the Gulyaipol area.

“But no more. They do not have enough strength and means to carry out some large-scale actions will not be enough even to capture the Donetsk region, but they will try,” the military expert emphasized.

And all because the Russian military command needs to keep the land corridor to the occupied Crimean peninsula by any means. To do this, the invaders are also strengthening the Zaporozhye direction, increasing the density of troops mobilized. These are the two main tasks of the occupying troops.

Will an increase in troops help the invaders

The Kremlin decided to increase the size of the occupying troops to 1.5 million servicemen by creating new military units or units. However, even to create one division takes several years. Russia will need to seriously strain to implement this plan.

The entire Russian army, all that they can now is to hold the land corridor to Crimea: Donbass with part of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions , but no more. Therefore, it dawned on them that they need to increase, because the rest of their areas are now “bare,” said the reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In his opinion, the increase in the army of the aggressor country is unlikely to cause problems for Ukraine. However, this indicates that the Russians are planning a long war.
