President Zelensky stated that since the beginning of the large-scale war, Russia has been committing provocations from Pridnestrovie. Obviously, Moscow is looking for an information basis in order to attack the territories of Moldova.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the beginning of Russia's major invasion of our state, the head of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky decided to give a press conference for the media. In this pieceChannel 24 reportshow the President commented on the possible aggravation of the conflict between the unrecognized Transnistria and the state of Moldova.
Russia is there where there is weakness
Zelensky is aware that the Russian occupiers are there “where there is a weak spot.” Actually, we are talking, in particular, about those states that previously had the influence of Moscow back in Soviet times. And about those states where there were problems, conflicts and separate institutions. Unfortunately, Moldova fits this description.
You know the example of Moldova. Our intelligence intercepted the document. I spoke frankly about this and brought this information to the EU. So I gave it to Mai Sandu (President of Moldova – Channel 24). There is evidence that they are (Russians)wanted to change the leadership of the state,” said the Ukrainian president.
According to him, Russia will not be able to attack Moldova through land, because it does not have a border with this state, but, obviously, it can use Transnistria for this purpose.
Pay attention! The document mentioned by Zelensky became known in the first weeks of this February, 2023. It says exactly how Russia planned to change the political structure in Modov.
The Ukrainian leader stated that now the Kremlin propagandists are throwing in the information space reports that there is a certain aggravation on the contact line between Pridnestrovie and Ukraine. Also, from time to time, the invaders open fire and lie that the Armed Forces of our state can enter “their territory”.
They (Russia and Transnistria – Channel 24) provoke constantly. There have been shots since the beginning of the war. They wanted us (AFU) to come in. I told Moldova to think about it and think about how to solve this issue. It was at the beginning of the great war. They provoked,” Zelensky emphasized.
Let's recall to this topic how the Ministry of Defense of Moldova reacted to information about a possible aggravation of the situation in their country. Actually, they refuted the Kremlin’s statements that Ukraine was allegedly planning provocations, and noted that so far there were no serious threats.
However, the Moldovan defense departments are monitoring the situation daily and will do everything to ensure stability in the state.
